CAFE Registered Education Program Application

CAFE partners with Canadian College and University institutions that provide programming excellence that meet the AFCC Core Competencies. This allows students with eligible credits from qualified institutions, the ability to fast-track and complete the AFCC® Exam in order to obtain their credential.

Institutions can apply to be listed and recognized as a Canadian Registered Education partner.

Simply complete the following form and submit the assessment fee to have your program elements reviewed. Please correlate the elements of your programming to the AFCC® Core Competencies required of the certification mark in Canada.

Core Curriculum List

College/University coursework within CAFE Registered Education Programs must address all content areas within the AFCC® Core Competencies. Students cannot become and AFCC Candidate until the have met the AFCC educational requirements through the successful completion of the required courses at their REP (verified by transcript review by the CAFE). - Unnecessary courses should not be included in order to avoid creating barriers for students who want to pursue this opportunity. - To become a CAFE REP, the following language must be included in the syllabus for each course in your curriculum: "This course is part of the core curriculum for the (University/college name)'s CAFE Registered Education Program with the Canadian Association for Financial Empowerment (CAFE®, formerly known as the Ontario Association for Credit Counselling Services (OACCS®) and the Canadian Association of Credit Counselling Services (CACCS®). For more information about OACCS and obtaining your Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada (AFCC®) designation through the OACCS Registered Education Program Pathway, please visit https://cafe-acaf.org/." - Please provide information below on the courses that students must take (6 credits minimum) to satisfy the core competencies and be eligible to sit for the AFCC® certification exam. Please provide a detailed syllabus for each course in this section during the application submission.
